Hello, Meet Cyndia
I am an experienced educational leader with over 14 years in administration, including 3 years as principal of iHigh Virtual Academy. My focus is on enhancing instructional practices, promoting equity, and aligning programs with student needs. I’ve successfully implemented strategies like a co-teaching model in special education, improving student outcomes and self-esteem, and developed data-driven reading programs for struggling students. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I bring deep cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to equity-based education. I hold advanced degrees in education and have taught future educators as an adjunct professor.
My Story
I am an accomplished educational leader with over 11 years of experience as an associate principal and 3 years as the principal of iHigh Virtual Academy, where I have consistently focused on enhancing instructional practices and promoting equity within educational settings. I have a proven track record in community relations and data interpretation, successfully aligning instructional programs with student needs and strategically allocating resources to support these initiatives. My leadership has resulted in documented success, including implementing strategies for differentiated instruction, ensuring that all students meet state standards and graduation requirements, and improving attendance across grade levels.
Throughout my career, I have initiated transformative educational programs, such as the implementation of a co-teaching model in special education, which significantly improved student test scores and self-esteem. I have effectively used data to design focused reading classes for students reading several years below grade level and developed a student-centered master schedule to foster stronger relationships between staff and students. In addition to my work at iHigh Virtual Academy, I’ve held roles at Monroe Clark Middle School and Azusa Pacific University, where I inspired future educators and taught curriculum design and differentiation as an adjunct professor.
My core strengths include a deep cultural sensitivity and the ability to implement equity-based, diverse educational programs. Being bilingual in English and Spanish has also enhanced my ability to connect with a diverse student population. I hold an Administrative Credential from Azusa Pacific University, a Master’s degree in Education from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Point Loma Nazarene University. My commitment to educational excellence and community engagement is at the heart of everything I do, making me a valuable asset to any educational organization.
